Michelle Dean is a Canadian journalist, critic and screenwriter who currently lives in Los Angeles. Her work has been published by The New York Times Magazine, Slate, The New Republic, and The Guardian among others. She is the author of Sharp: The Women Who Made An Art of Having an Opinion, published to wide acclaim in 2018 and translated into five languages. She is also the 2017 recipient of the Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Book Reviewing awarded by the National Book Critics Circle.
