"June" / Executive Producer / Director
Yvonne Strzechowski has garnered critical acclaim for her role as Serena Joy Waterford in Hulu’s Emmy and Golden Globe winning original series, THE HANDMAID’S TALE, for which she has netted an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress (Drama Series), a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress (Series, Miniseries, or Television Film), as well as two Screen Actors Guild nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble (Drama Series). She is currently in production on season 5.
Most recently, Strahovski starred alongside Chris Pratt in Amazon Studio’s sci-fi, time traveling film, THE TOMMOROW WAR, which broke Amazon Prime Video’s records for garnering unprecedented viewing numbers during the first 48 hours of its release. Prior to that, Strahovski starred in STATELESS, a six-part TV series, which premiered on ABC Australia in March 2020, at the Berlin Film Festival in February, and on Netflix. The series was produced by and also starred Cate Blanchett, along with Jai Courtney and Dominic West. Strahovski received rave reviews, with Forbes calling her performance “hauntingly convincing” and Entertainment Weekly calling out her performance as “beautifully nuanced”, resulting in an AACTA award for ‘Best Lead Actress in a Television Series’.
In 2019, Strahovski appeared in the Kim Farrant-directed psychological thriller, ANGEL OF MINE, which follows a woman’s descent into madness after she loses her daughter and becomes convinced that another woman’s child is in fact her own. Strahovski plays the woman accused of stealing her own daughter, opposite Noomi Rapace.
Strahovski also appeared in 20th Century FOX’s THE PREDATOR reboot. The film, which grossed over $116M worldwide, saw Strahovski star alongside Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Boyd Holbrook and Keegan Michael Key.
Previously, Strahovski could be seen in critically-acclaimed TV dramas such as FOX’s 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY, Showtime’s DEXTER, NBC’s CHUCK, and ABC’s THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB. Past film credits include HE’S OUT THERE; MANHATTAN NIGHT; and THE GUILT TRIP.
In December 2012, Strahovski made her Broadway debut in the Lincoln Center production of Golden Boy, which was nominated for a 2013 Tony Award.
Born and raised in Sydney, Strahovski studied theater at the renowned Theatre Nepean, the prestigious actor training institution within the School of the Contemporary Arts at the University of Western Sydney.
Prior to her move to Los Angeles in early 2007, she co-founded a Theatre Company in Sydney, called Sauna Productions, where she acted in and co-produced the productions Kieslowski’s Neck and Finn City.
Strahovski’s greatest joys are the outdoors and being a mom to her two boys.
