Mitchell Winkie is a writer based in, get this, Los Angeles. He is twenty seven years old but is considering not counting 2020. He grew up in El Cajon, California and studied film at USC, where he used their student dentistry school for some discount fillings. Not bad! Embarrassed he had seven cavities though.

THE ULTIMATE PLAYLIST OF NOISE is the first script Mitchell ever wrote. He wishes he had a better story for how he came up with the idea, but the truth is one day the title just popped into his head and the rest was history. He spent several months asking friends and strangers alike (thank you Lyft drivers) about their favorite sounds, many of which made it into the script. He was lucky enough to watch the movie get made in Syracuse, where he tried his best to stay out of the way and not eat too much crafty.

When he was in high school, his mother underwent surgery for an arteriovenous malformation in her brain. While certainly different than Marcus’s journey in the film, the experience not only shaped how Mitchell approached the story, but also reminded him that life is chaos and no diem should ever be left un-carpe’d.

And for the record, his favorite sound is the tuning of an orchestra.
