CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED FILM HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE TO STREAM EXCLUSIVELY ON HULU

SANTA MONICA, CA NOVEMBER 17, 2016 – Hulu announced a new deal today for the exclusive streaming video on-demand rights to The Orchard’s film, Hunt for the Wilderpeople. The critically acclaimed film from director Taika Waititi (What We Do In the Shadows, The Inbetweeners, Flight of the Conchords) will be available to stream this holiday season only on Hulu.
Following its theatrical debut this summer, the poignant, funny film will become the latest addition to Hulu’s growing film library, which includes thousands of movie titles, and will be available to stream anytime across living room and mobile devices with a Hulu subscription.
Hailing from New Zealand and based on the book by Barry Crump, Hunt for the Wilderpeople has won multiple awards since its debut at Sundance Film Festival in 2016, including the audience award for Best Narrative Feature at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the audience award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a charming film about a boy (Julian Dennison) and his foster father (Sam Neill) who become the subjects of a manhunt after they get stranded in the New Zealand wilderness. The film also stars Rima Te Wiata (Housebound), Rachel House (Whale Rider), Mike Minogue (What We Do In The Shadows) and Rhys Darby (Wrecked, Pirate Radio, Yes Man).
