YouTube TV and Google Fiber Executive Tapped to Oversee and Accelerate
Hulu’s Content Partnership and Acquisition Strategy Across All Content Categories
SANTA MONICA, CA (October 30, 2018) Hulu CEO Randy Freer announced today Heather Moosnick will join the company as Senior Vice President, Content Partnerships. In this role, Moosnick will drive Hulu’s content acquisition strategy across its live and on-demand programming — from full library series and movies to current network television shows and emerging content opportunities — to create viewing experiences that put Hulu subscribers first.
As SVP, Content Partnerships, Moosnick will lead and continue building Hulu’s content and network acquisition team and will work closely with the company’s originals, marketing, product, and technology leadership to create more personalized, localized and curated program offerings for consumers. She will join Hulu’s senior management team on November 12 and will report directly to Freer.
“Heather is a highly strategic, creative and relationship-oriented executive who has spent her entire career driving change and innovation,” said Freer. “As Hulu looks to transition television from a gatekeeper-driven experience to one that’s led by the consumer, Heather’s leadership and fearless approach to evolving antiquated business rules make her a perfect fit for our team.”
Moosnick joins Hulu from Google, Inc, where she most recently served as head of global business development, strategy and content partner management for YouTube TV and Google Fiber, including all TV networks and affiliates. In that role, she led the teams that structured, negotiated and closed all content deals for the launch of the company’s digital MVPD service. Prior to that, Moosnick was the head of music label partnerships for YouTube, where she shaped the content vision behind and launches of YouTube Music and YouTube Premium. She was named one of Fierce Cable’s “Fierce 50” executives shaping the pay TV business in 2018 and one of Billboard’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Music in 2015.
Before joining Google, Moosnick served as Vice President, Global Digital Strategy and Business Development at Warner Music Group (WMG), creating and leading WMG ’s music video distribution strategy. She has also held senior roles at CBS Interactive and MTV Networks and began her career as an attorney with Hughes Hubbard and Reed LLP.
A longtime resident of New York, Moosnick is the co-founder of Women in Digital Media, a 1,000+ networking group for women in the digital entertainment industries, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Vineyard Theatre.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and earned her Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law.
