This is an extremely exciting time in the world of digital voice services. Voice capabilities are exploding due, in large part, to leaders in the space like Amazon opening their doors to 3rd-party developers, creating endless voice-driven possibilities. We are particularly fired up about how these technologies will simplify TV viewing. That’s why we are very happy to announce today that, beginning this fall, Hulu will be among the first 3rd-party entertainment services to support Amazon’s voice service, Alexa.

You can ask your Alexa Voice Remote to find, launch, and control content on Hulu or pair your Fire TV to an Echo device to enjoy hands-free, far-field voice control to perform an array of actions on their TV including pause, rewind, fast-forward and start watching favorite titles and channels.

Getting to your favorite Hulu content using your Fire TV device will be even more effortless and quick. You’ll no longer have to spend time clicking around, you’ll be able to call on Alexa to instantly pull up the content you’re ready to watch. Here are just a few examples of the kinds of voice commands the Alexa integration will support at launch:

“Alexa, watch ESPN on Fire TV.”

“Alexa, tune to Bravo.”

“Alexa, watch The Handmaid’s Tale.”

“Alexa, watch Full House.”

“Alexa, pause.”

“Alexa, watch This is Us.”

“Alexa, go back 13 seconds.”

“Alexa, fast forward 2 minutes.”

“Alexa, go to the beginning.”

That’s just the start! We are excited to learn what kinds of commands are most helpful and essential to our viewers’ experience as we continue to explore the ways in which we can build a more robust experience with Alexa.

We are always eager to launch deeper integrations with the devices that matter most to our viewers and are looking forward to Hulu’s integration with Amazon’s Alexa coming to customers soon.
