Changing the Game

Andraya Yearwood is currently an activist for the rights of transgender athletes all across the country. She has spoken out about not only her right to compete but the right of other trans athletes in the same position. Andraya has participated as an American transgender student-athlete from Cromwell, Connecticut. She has told her story countless times in several speaking engagements such as; a panel discussion at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, at the Outsports Pride Summit Panel located at the University of California, Los Angeles, and more. Through speaking out on the discrimination of trans athletes in sport, Andraya has gone through her own fair share of adversity as well. In order to overcome these challenges, Andraya depends on the support of her friends, family, and community.  They have motivated her to speak out and advocate for other transgender students.
