Brian Tanen has written for a variety of television shows including “Ugly Betty,” “Desperate Housewives,” Netflix’s “Atypical,” and “Devious Maids” — on which he also served as Showrunner and Executive Producer.  In 2018, he created “Grand Hotel” for ABC Network – a contemporary upstairs-downstairs drama, set in Miami – which incidentally, is his hometown. Currently he serves as co-showrunner and Executive Producer of Hulu’s “Love, Victor”. Before his career in television, Tanen was an accomplished playwright – having won the Kennedy Center’s John Cauble prize for his One-Act play “The Man of Infinite Sadness.”  He is a graduate of Yale College and received his MFA from the NYU-Tisch Department of Dramatic Writing.  He lives in Los Angeles, CA with his partner Scott and their dog Dolly – yes, named after Dolly Parton.
