James Martinez is a series regular on Hulu’s LOVE, VICTOR. Martinez has had major recurring roles on HOUSE OF CARDS and ONE DAY AT A TIME, both for Netflix. Other recurring roles include TELL ME A STORY (CBS All Access), AQUARIUS (NBC), LOW WINTER SUN (AMC), GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION (TNT). He is well known for his series regular role on GRAVITY (FX). He was also a series regular in the pilot INTELLIGENCE. His guest star roles include GOD FRIENDED ME (CBS), BILLIONS (SHOWTIME), THE BLACKLIST: REDEMPTION (NBC), THE GOOD FIGHT (CBS All Access), THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA (NBC), and QUEEN OF THE SOUTH (USA), BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (CW), NCIS (CBS), BREAKING BAD (AMC), all three LAW & ORDER series (NBC), among others. 

Features include the lead in the indie horror film, AARON’S BLOOD, directed by Tommy Stovall. Supporting roles include RUN ALL NIGHT, with Liam Neeson and Vincent D’Onofrio, THE SESSIONS as well as BROTHER TO BROTHER, LOST REVOLUTION, B-GIRL and SIDE EFFECTS for Steven Soderbergh.  

On stage, Martinez originated roles in the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Itamar Moses’ BACK, BACK, BACK, US DRAG for director Trip Cullman, and the Melinda Lopez play, SONIA FLEW. He is a frequent participant in several high level readings and workshops with New York’s most influential theatres and directors, most recently giving an electric, critic grabbing performance in the New York Stage and Film Production of Lucy Thurber’s TRANSFERS, for director Jackson Gay. 

Martinez is a graduate of The Juilliard School and was recruited as one of Julliard’s youngest entering freshmen.
