Jodi Matterson serves as Managing Director of Australia, partner and producer of Made Up Stories. Founded by Bruna Papandrea, Made Up Stories is a production company whose mission is to create opportunities for women in front of and behind the camera and is committed to championing distinctive voices.Jodi recently produced THE DRY, based on the Jane Harper novel, from director Robert Connolly and starring Eric Bana which has broken records at the Australian box office upon release in January 2021 and has since been acquired by IFC Films domestically and will be released on May 21, 2021, as well as the film adaptation of the international best-seller, PENGUIN BLOOM, starring Naomi Watts, Andrew Lincoln and Jacki Weaver, which premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in Australia by Roadshow and worldwide by Netflix.

In 2018, Jodi produced Abe Forsythe’s zombie romantic comedy LITTLE MONSTERS starring Oscar® winner, Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad, which premiered to critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019. 

Upcoming projects include: the limited series NINE PERFECT STRANGERS, based on best-selling author Liane Moriarty’s book, written by David E. Kelley, Samantha Strauss and John Henry Butterworth and starring Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Regina Hall and Manny Jacinto for Hulu,  WOLF LIKE ME starring Isla Fisher and Josh Gad with writer / director Abe Forsythe for Peacock and THE LOST FLOWERS OF ALICE HART with Glendyn Ivin and Sarah Lambert based on the award-winning novel by Holly Ringland

Prior to Made Up Stories, Jodi started her film career assisting Australian producers Al Clark (THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA – QUEEN OF THE DESERT) and Andrena Finlay and then worked in development in London for various UK producers.

She produced her first feature film THUNDERSTRUCK with director, Darren Ashton, a rock’n’roll road movie set to the music of AC/DC starring Sam Worthington. Her second film RAZZLE DAZZLE set in the dance world, screened at more than 20 international film festivals including Berlin.

Jodi went on to produce the romantic comedy NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN directed by Oscar®-nominated, Peter Templeman giving Sarah Snook her first starring role, the black comedy DOWN UNDER from Abe Forsythe and the romantic thriller 2:22 directed by Paul Currie starring Teresa Palmer and Michel Huisman.

On the TV side, Jodi produced the miniseries POWER GAMES: THE MURDOCH-PACKER STORY with John Edwards / Endemol for the Nine Network.

Jodi had also previously been one of the top producers for commercials in Australia with over sixty commercials with renowned Australian and International directors.
