Manny Jacinto has distinguished himself as one of Hollywood’s most exciting new talents, having quickly amassed an impressive body of work alongside some of the industry’s most notable writers, directors, and actors.
Jacinto is best known for his breakout performance in the NBC Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated critically-acclaimed comedy series “The Good Place.” Jacinto was hailed by Vanity Fair as “the brightest comedic spot in a cast jam-packed with hilarious talent” and as the “season’s MVP” by the New York Times. His performance has also landed him on ‘best of’ lists from Variety, ET, Buzzfeed, Vulture, Indiewire and Uproxx to name a few. The Hollywood Reporter highlighted him as one of the 30 Supporting Actors in their 2019 Emmys Class Photo.
Jacinto was named one of People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2020 and was honored at the 2018 Unforgettable Gala alongside Sandra Oh and John Cho for his work on “The Good Place.” He got his start as a dramatic actor and was nominated for a Leo Award for his role in the drama “The Romeo Section” from creator Chris Haddock (Boardwalk Empire).
Jacinto stars as “Yao” in the highly-anticipated Hulu mini-series “Nine Perfect Strangers” alongside a star-studded cast that includes Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Bobby Cannavale, Regina King and Luke Evans. The series is based on the popular novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, author of “Big Little Lies.”
Next, Jacinto will be seen portraying a fighter pilot in director Joseph Kosinski’s upcoming “Top Gun: Maverick,” starring alongside Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer and Jon Hamm. The highly anticipated sequel to the iconic 1986 film is set to be released by Paramount Pictures on November 19, 2021.
Jacinto recently wrapped the Amazon comedy “I Want You Back” opposite Charlie Day, Gina Rodriguez, Jenny Slate and Scott Eastwood for director Jason Orley (Big Time Adolescence) and the Netflix horror-thriller series “Brand New Cherry Flavor” alongside Rosa Salazar, Catherine Keener and Eric Lang from creator Nick Antosca.
His previous film and television credits include 20th Century Fox’s “Bad Times at the El Royale, ABC’s popular fantasy series “Once Upon A Time,” as well as guest appearances on AMC’s “Bates Motel” opposite Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga, and ABC’s hit medical drama “The Good Doctor.”
A native of Vancouver, Jacinto is a trained dancer and studied Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia.
