Carey is an actor originally from El Paso, TX. After receiving her BFA in Musical Theatre from Santa Fe University of Art and Design, followed by an MFA in Acting from UNC Chapel Hill, Carey moved to NYC and transitioned into working as an actor with a disability after a diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which made it necessary for her to use mobility aids.
She recently participated as both an actor and writer in the 2022 Viacom CBS Showcase and shot a supporting role in an upcoming feature for A24 films. Prior to that Carey primarily worked on stage, understudying the role of ‘Laura’ in the recent Broadway revival of THE GLASS MENAGERIE, directed by Sam Gold starring Sally Field, and later playing that role in a production at The Guthrie Theatre, directed by Joseph Haj. She has also performed in productions at PlayMakers Repertory Company, Syracuse University, Nashville Children’s Theatre, and Queens Theatre.
Carey is also a playwright and has had work featured at Queens Theatre, Lincoln Center, and the Bird Festival in Tokyo, Japan. She is also a trained visual artist and enjoys advocacy and volunteer work. She lives in New York City with her two adorable eleven-year-old cats.
Carey is represented by KMR & Associates.
