Alli Chung is a Canadian actress of Swedish, Irish and Chinese descent. Her unique look and talents have helped her morph into many different comedic and dramatic roles.
Alli began acting and modelling at a young age and became a casting assistant after university. While working in commercial and film casting, she was asked to audition herself. She booked her first audition and from there, the spark ignited.
Alli began her acting career in short and independent films and has since starred as the supporting lead in Lifetime’s It Takes a Christmas Village, and recently wrapped a recurring role on Hulu/YTV’s The Hardy Boys. She has made guest star appearances on TV shows such as Amazon’s The Bold Type (2019), Hulu’s UnReal (2017), and CBC’s Coroner (2018). Other acting credits include Showcase’s Lost Girl (2010) and Almost Heroes (2011), YTV’s The Stanley Dynamic (2014), A&E’s Damien (2016), FXX’s Man Seeking Woman (2016), Syfy’s The Expanse (2016), and Dark Matter (2016). Alli’s film credits include the infamous horror series SAW 3D and the highly acclaimed film Mariner, which was an official selection for TIFF 2016, one of TIFF’s Top Ten Shorts in Canada and screened in the shorts corner at Cannes Film Festival (2017). She also co-produced a short film, FOMO, which premiered at the Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival (2017).
Alli is interested in giving a platform to underrepresented voices, diverse filmmakers and performers.
Newly appointed Police Chief, JESSE finds herself under a lot of pressure to clean up Bridgeport, especially from Mayor Krassner, who is tired of the Hardy boys always being one step ahead of the Police Department. The long hours and added stress don’t make things easy for Jesse’s personal life. Her relationship with Trudy isn’t taking the priority it should, and her daughter’s involvement with the Hardy boys is making her work/life balance that much trickier. But Jesse was promoted to Chief of Police for a reason – she’s dedicated to keeping her town safe, even if that means deferring to teenage detectives when necessary.
