Julia Vera
Julia started her acting career after her children were grown and had left the nest. Her first movie was “Speed” with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock and what a memorable first experience it was for her.
Julia went on to do an infomercial for Ingles Sin Barreras that put her in many homes every day. Julia played a mean Mother-in-law, “Everybody hated me, people that recognized me would ask why are you so mean”. Julia loves when she can meet with fans, “They are going to love seeing me as the Abuela Maria in The Fool”.
Stage was Julia’s first love. She joined Nosotros which was founded by Ricardo Montalbán where she directed and produced several plays.
Working as an actress has brought Julia so much joy. She feels so blessed when she looks over her credits and often asks herself, “Did I really do all of this?”. From the voice of Grandmother Luisa for 3 seasons on Disney’s “Princess Elena of Avalor” to Adam Sandler’s first movie for Netflix, “The Ridiculous Six” to a recurring role as the hundred-year-old Lana Chee in the final episodes of “The X-Files”, Julia says with a smile “it’s all been wonderful”.
In Julia’s most recent movie “The Old Ways” she plays a healer/witch and is grateful for the many wonderful reviews.
When Julia was cast as a series regular in “The Fool” she was literally dancing, jumping and shouting for joy as she was so happy to be a part of the show, “Thank you God and thank you to all the wonderful people involved with this production”.
