Erick’s passion for music first developed at an early age through his attendance of local San Diego musical theater productions. After several years in the theater industry, his musical interests expanded to include the world of composition and film scoring. This prompted him to receive a degree (B.M.) in Music Composition from Point Loma Nazarene University and later attend the University of Southern California’s prestigious Scoring for Motion Picture and Television program. While attending USC, Erick honed his composition skills under the guidance of Oscar- nominated Bruce Broughton (Silverado), Emmy winner Frederik Wiedman (Netflix’s The Dragon Prince), BAFTA winner Garry Schyman (Bioshock) and the noteworthy Jack Smalley (The Last of the Mohicans). After the program, Erick went on to be mentored by Emmy and Grammy-winning composer James Newton Howard (The Dark Knight). He also worked alongside the Oscar-nominated John Debney (The Passion of the Christ) and horror legend Christopher Young (Hellraiser) in various scoring workshops. As well as being one of twelve internationally selected composers to be accepted into the renowned 2013 ASCAP scoring workshop. All of the skills and knowledge he learned during this time have proven invaluable and ultimately prepared him for any job, big or small, that is presented to him.

Some of Erick’s other credits include the NBC series Siberia, Jaymes Camery’s American Christmas, the action/western No Man’s Land, Nation’s Fire starring the Oscar-nominated Bruce Dern, the sci-fi thriller Astro, the animated series The Weeklings, Cedric Gegel’s Cadia: The World Within, the family drama Sand Angels, Dreams I Never Had starring Malcolm McDowell and many more.
