Mickey Liddell is the founder and CEO of LD Entertainment, an independent studio that finances the development and production of elevated and thoughtful films, television and Broadway stage productions.   

Liddell has produced and financed an array of films across various genres, including JACKIE, which garnered three Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress for Natalie Portman and the Judy Garland biopic, JUDY, starring Renee Zellweger, who took home the Academy Award for Best Actress and is now nominated for a Grammy Award for the film’s soundtrack.

Liddell has financed the release of such critically acclaimed films as Peter Hedges’ BEN IS BACK, starring Julia Roberts and Lucas Hedges; Max Minghella’s directorial debut, TEEN SPIRIT, starring Elle Fanning; the hit documentary THE BIGGEST LITTLE FARM from Emmy Award-winning director John Chester, and THE ZOOKEEPER’S WIFE directed by Niki Caro, starring Jessica Chastain and Daniel Bruhl.  Liddell also financed and produced FAST COLOR, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Strathairn; the 2019 Sundance breakout film directed by Jason Orley, BIG TIME ADOLESCENCE, starring Pete Davidson, Griffin Gluck, and Machine Gun Kelly; and WORDS ON BATHROOM WALLS, directed by Thor Freudenthal and starring Charlie Plummer, Taylor Russell, and Andy Garcia.  LD Entertainment’s recent credits also include the Gloria Steinem biopic, THE GLORIAS directed by Julie Taymor and starring Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander, and Janelle Monáe, a partnership with Netflix for the film THE SLEEPOVER, and they recently wrapped production on the horror film, EIGHT FOR SILVER directed by Sean Ellis and starring Boyd Holbrook, Kelly Reilly and Alistair Petrie.

In addition to films and television, Liddell is a four-time Tony award-winning producer for some of the most renowned Broadway productions including HADESTOWN which swept the 2019 Tony Awards, taking home eight awards, including Best Musical, as well as winning the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.  Additional productions include 2019 Tony Award-winning RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN’S OKLAHOMA!, THE CHER SHOW, AIN’T TOO PROUD, BE MORE CHILL, ANGELS IN AMERICA, the Tony award-winning DEAR EVAN HANSEN, the 2020 Tony nominee MOULIN ROUGE, and the 2020 Grammy nominated LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.
